Certainty factors are numbers ranging from -1.00 to +1.00. They are used to give a quantative impression of the probability of correctness belonging to a statement of interest. A value of -1 means that the statement is certainly false. A value of +1 means that the statement is certainly true. A value of zero means that there is no proper evidence to support any conclusion.
